Oval tureen and its lid in silver, with contours, doucines and pinched ribs, standing on four feet with scrolls with escutcheon attachment, foliage and rocaille, the edges with moldings of fillets, the handles with accolades connected with lanceolate leaves, the lid surmounted by the baluster-shaped seed with acanthus leaves and volutes. The tureen and the lid engraved with the coat of arms attributed to the Le Sergeant family, lords of Acq and Isbergues, surmounted by a helmet (variations of the engraving of the coat of arms between the body and the lid). On the tureen and the lid : hallmark of the Master goldsmith Antoine Joseph CARPENTIER. Saint-Omer, circa 1756. Height : 22,5 cm - Length to handles : 36 cm - Width : 21,5 cm. Weight : 2 356 g. (modification to the fixing of the catch of the lid, formerly repolished) The coat of arms, "of azure to three sheaves of gold, bound of same" is attributed to the family Le Sergeant, lords of Acq and Isbergues, bourgeois merchants of Saint-Omer, then lawyers and prosecutor. They became nobles of the robe around 1698 with the rank of squire.
