Silver teapot and tea box, in their original case. The teapot of baluster form, posed on a frame, the lid with doucine surmounted by the catch in the shape of leafy seed, the thumb rest cut out, the handle with scrolls in blackened wood. The rectangular tea box, the stopper with nets. Engraved with the coat of arms of Léon-Antoine-Lazare Barthélémy de Saizieu in an oval shield surrounded by the collar of the order of Saint-Michel, surmounted by a count's crown. Mark of the Master goldsmith François JOUBERT, received in 1749. Paris, 1770-1771. Height of the teapot : 17,5 cm - Gross weight : 712 g. Dimensions of the tea box : Height : 9 cm - Length : 8,8 cm - Width : 4 cm - Weight : 266 g. (chips on the box). Notes : Coat of arms of the Barthélémy de Saizieu family (Provence). Léon- Antoine-Lazare Barthélémy de Saizieu (1736-1819), secretary of the department of Foreign Affairs, then consul of France in Tunis, (1762-1776). In 1771, he was knight of the order of Saint-Michel and ennobled. In 1811, he became a baron of the Empire.
