An important ormolu and chased centerpiece, the circular top formed by a slice of petrified Indonesian palm (palmoxylon), the belt applied with rosettes framed by laurel branches. It rests on six caryatids, arms crossed and topped by a small capital, the pedestal a truncated column with lotiform friezes. The base has six patinated bronze springs, each resting on a small claw foot. Attributed to Pierre-Philippe THOMIRE (1751-1843). First part of the 19th century. H. 24.2 cm - D. 35.5 cm. The end of a laurel branch is missing.
