Pair of ovoid porcelain vases with polychrome decoration of - Lot 179
Pair of ovoid porcelain vases with polychrome decoration of hazelnut branches, plums and black and white grape clusters. Friezes and fillets of gilding, the neck underlined by a large reserve with a green background.
The handles simulate a knotted rope, on a bearded mask attachment.
Made by E.D. HONORE et Cie A PARIS.
Height: 28,5 cm. Width: 23,5cm.
Crack on each one of them, the lids missing, slight splinter not visible under the pedestal of one of them.
From the shape of these vases, they are probably coolers. They can in fact be compared to a model of a cooler that was part of the so-called "plants of the
Malmaison" service produced by the Imperial Manufacure of
Sèvres.
