Circular slotted drum, consisting of a carved wooden shaft with six opposite bearded heads, between which a long cutout is made in the base of the wood (three slots). The back of the instrument is decorated with linear geometric motifs and two stylised breasts. Hardwood with a beautiful glossy brown patina. One side of the drum is blocked, while the other has remained empty in the centre. ATTIÉ people, Ivory Coast. Late 19th century, early 20th century. L.: 80 cm.
