Pierre TAL COAT (1905-1985) : COUCHANT. Oil on canvas, signed with the initials in white at the bottom right. Size: 130 x 130 cm. Provenance: - Patrice Trigano gallery, where it was exhibited from September 15 to October 31, 1983, number 1 in the catalogue, probably acquired on that date. - former collection of M. D., Toulon. We are very grateful to Mr. Xavier Demolon for the additional information he kindly gave us: This canvas signed with the initials in white at the bottom right was painted in Dormont. The date around 1960-1965 on a label on the back (the same as on the catalogue of the exhibition at Trigano) seems too old to him. He tells us that he chose to date it in 1978. He also informs us that this work will be included in the catalogue raisonné under the reference XD-1978-065.
