Six small spoons in vermeil, engraved with a medallion and foliage scrolls, the flat handle ending with a spatula cut out with point, the spoon with tail of rat. For five: mark in ink of the collection David-Weill: D.W. 3219, numbered. Mark of the Master goldsmith Jean II VILLAIN, received in 1671 (his second mark). Paris, 1681-1684 (punch of load means works, a flower of lily closed of a ring by the bottom). A spoon without hallmark. Weight : 46 g In a chagrin case. Provenance : collection D. David-Weill, sale Ader Picard Tajan, Palais Galliera, Paris, 4-5 May 1972, lot 75. A spoon, a fork and a knife in vermeil by Jean II Villain, (his second hallmark) Paris, 1683-1684, are kept in the Collections of the Louvre Museum, Department of Works of Art (inv. OA 97 94).
