Goblet in vermeil with lacquer decoration, resting on a molded frame, the vermeil band of the upper part delimited by a rush. Under the moulding, it is coated with a brown-black lacquer, on which is painted in gold a Chinese decoration with pagoda, junk, flowering trees and birds; a small frieze of palmettes is painted at the base and under the upper moulding. The interior in vermeil. Mark of the Master goldsmith Jacques II TROUVÉ, received in 1673. (his second hallmark in 1680). Paris, 1686-1687. Height : 8,2cm - Gross weight : 107 g. (minor wear, small chips and restorations) To be compared with a small gilt silver goblet with lacquer decoration by Denis Patu, Paris 1686-1687, reproduced in Michèle Bimbenet-Privat's book "Les orfèvres et l'orfèvrerie de Paris au XVIIe siècle", vol. 1, n° 43.
