Nicolas de LARGILLIERRE (Paris 1656 - 1746) : PORTRAIT OF A - Lot 102
Nicolas de LARGILLIERRE (Paris 1656 - 1746) : PORTRAIT OF A MAN IN ARMOR. Canvas. 92 x 73.5 cm. Old restorations. Provenance: in the collection of Henri-Guillaume Chatillon, a pupil of Girodet-Trioson; then passed down, in the mid-19th century, to the family of the current owner. The painting was formerly attributed to Hyacinthe Rigaud, and identified as a portrait of Maréchal de Boufflers. We would like to thank Mr. Dominique Brême, who examined the painting and dated it to the late 1720s, and will include it in the catalog raisonné.
